A Simple Prayer Framework (ACTS)

Prayer is simply talking with God. If you're unsure where to begin, the ACTS framework offers a simple way to organize your thoughts as you respond to what you've read in Scripture.

A • Adoration

Begin by praising God for who He is.

Ask yourself:

  • "What attribute of God stood out in today's passage?"
  • "What can I praise Him for today?"

C • Confession

Confess any sin, attitudes, or areas where God has convicted your heart.

Ask yourself:

  • "Is there anything I need to surrender?"
  • "Where do I need God's forgiveness or help?"

T • Thanksgiving

Thank God for His goodness, His Word, and His faithfulness.

Ask yourself:

  • "What blessing can I thank God for today?"
  • "What truth from today's reading encourages me?"

S • Supplication

Bring your requests before God, praying for yourself and others.

Ask yourself:

  • "What do I need to entrust to God?"
  • "Who can I pray for today?"
